Modangul Tagbergenova graduated from the Kazakh State University in the name of Kirov with a degree in chemistry. For many years she worked as the Head of the Chemical Group at the branch of the Alma-Ata All-Union Center for Patent Services.

During the formation of the independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the 90s, being the chief expert of the department of examination of trademarks and industrial designs of the National Patent Office, she stood at the origins of the creation of the National Patent Office, and was also one of the authors of the first Law on Trademarks of independent Kazakhstan.

Modangul Tagbergenova is a member of many professional international associations such as INTA (International Trademark Association), LES (Licensing Executives Society), Society of Intellectual Property Appraisers of the Russian Federation, Member of the Almaty Chamber of Legal Consultants; member of the Chamber of Appraisers (license No. FL – 00188).

She also is Deputy General Director of «Tagbergenova & Partners Intellectual Property Agency» LLP.

She has been practicing since 1984, having vast experience in the protection of intellectual property,she conducts court trials on patents and trademarks.
