From July 18 to 29, 2022, the Summer School of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) was held in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The program of WIPO Summer Schools on Intellectual Property (IP) is provided for undergraduates and masters specializing in one of the fields of science, as well as for young professionals of any profile for whom IP issues may be relevant.
The school was organized with the support of the World Intellectual Property Organization and was held in an online format.
The number of listeners was more than 60 people, including representatives of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Russia, Bulgaria.
Director of the Department for Intellectual Property Rights of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan Ermek Altynbekov and Head of the Section for the Caucasus, Central Asia and Eastern Europe, Department for Transition Economies and Developed Countries, WIPO Ilya Gribkov addressed the audience with a welcoming speech at the opening of the school.
The training was conducted with the involvement of highly qualified specialists in the field of intellectual property. The lecturers of the Summer School were representatives of WIPO, patent attorneys, business representatives and experts in the field of intellectual property of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The lecturers from the Chamber of Patent Attorneys of Kazakhstan were members of the Chamber: Zhussupbekova Saule and Tagbergenova Modangul.
Saule Zhussupbekova presented the topic “Protection of design and its interaction with other areas of intellectual property”.
Modangul Tagbergenova presented the topic “Trademark violations and infringements”.
