Ms. Tagbergenova graduated from the Kazakh National Technical University with a degree in software engineer. She also graduated from the Higher School of Law “Adilet” with the qualification of a lawyer. Alma started working for the family company, the Intellectual Property Agency,as a secretary  while attending the first university.

She successfully passed the examination for a patent attorney of the Republic of Kazakhstan in June 2000.

In 2012 she was registered as a Eurasian patent attorney.

In 2007, Alma completed a training course in European and German Patent Law organized by Vossius& Partners, Munich.

In 2010, Alma successfully completed the distance learning course on the “Refresher course on trademarks, industrial designs and appellations of origin” of the WIPO Worldwide Academy.

And in 2011, she completed the “Refresher Course in Conciliation and Mediation Procedures” organized by the International Trademark Association (INTA). She is also a member of INTA, AIPPI and FICPI, member of the Almaty Chamber of Legal Consultants.
